The service
TubeExtract reads the caption track a YouTube video already publishes and returns rows matching a schema you describe. We are not affiliated with YouTube or Google, we make no claim on the underlying content, and we do not fetch anything from YouTube ourselves — caption tracks reach us through a third-party transcript provider.
Your responsibility for content
You are responsible for having the right to process the videos you submit and for what you do with the rows you get back, including any obligations you have to the video's rights holders and any terms that apply to the platform the video is published on. We do not review submitted videos and we take no position on whether a particular use of a caption track is permitted to you.
Who runs it, and where
The service runs on a rented server in Germany and a machine of ours in Turkey. Both are ours to operate; neither is a hosted platform with its own terms layered on top of these. The privacy page and the DPA say which data goes where.
Credits and billing
Credits are metered by the minute: a video that returns a result costs 10 credits for every started minute of it, and a failed job is not charged. A plan's allowance is added at each renewal and unused credits stay on the account; purchased credit packs do not expire either. A paid plan may run up to a quarter of its monthly allowance below zero so a batch is not cut off partway, and that amount is taken from the next renewal. Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated; downgrades take effect at the next renewal. Cancel any time and the plan runs to the end of the paid cycle.
Fair use
Rate limits are published in the documentation and enforced per plan. We may throttle a key that sustains far beyond its plan, and we will email before doing so unless the traffic threatens the service for others. The demo on the home page is rate-limited per visitor and per day, and is not an entitlement.
Uptime and liability
We publish measured uptime on the status page — figures computed from health checks, not a target quoted at you. This is a small operation on hardware we own; we do not offer a contractual uptime guarantee, and the service is provided as it is. Our liability in any twelve-month period is limited to what you paid us in that period.
Changes
Material changes are announced by email and in the changelog at least 30 days ahead.
